Meet Oregon Trail

“We envision all people in western Nebraska having the opportunity to have a life changing

relationship with Christ, and to fellowship with other believers.”  Vision Statement

Hello,

Welcome to the web site of Oregon Trail Baptist Association (OTBA).  In case you’re visiting us for the first time I would like to introduce us to you.

Our churches are self-governing. However, we have learned that churches can do more in friendly cooperation than working alone.  So, Oregon Trail Baptist Association is a family of churches that are on a Mission with Christ in their community and the world.

Here are a few examples of how our churches work together:

ü      Disaster Relief:  Our churches have a mobile feeding unit that is capable of preparing up to 7,000 meals per day.  We have served in places like Memphis, TN (05); Pearl River, LA (05); Harrison, NE (06); Greensburg, NE (07); and Kearney, NE (08).

ü      Children’s Camp:  Our churches host a Children’s Camp every July.  Our goal is to keep it affordable for everyone with a focus on evangelism, discipleship, missions and worship.  Our desire is for God to use the Camp as a place where children will come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and for God to call out future missionaries and pastors.

ü      Block Party Trailer:  Our churches are working together to build a Block Party Trailer so that each church will have another tool in their tool box to reach the un-churched families in their community for Christ and His church, and to plant new churches.

ü      Minister’s Wives Retreat:  Our churches host every November a retreat for Wives of our Pastors, Missionaries and Chaplains.  We recognize that these ladies are often the silent hero’s in our churches.  Our desire is to provide these ladies with a Friday night, and Saturday for a “get-away” to recharge their batteries.
